EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP 2006

Basic information
1. Tournament will be played in Bovec (Slovenia) from 2nd till 10th of September 2006. Arriving and registration 1st of September till 21.oo.
2. Each European Federation – FMJD member – can delegate their players to participate in this Championship. There is no limit of players from one federation!
3. Applications with the list of players should be send (fax and/or email) to EDC before July 15th 2006. If Federations which needs visa to Slovenia, the deadline if June 25th (instead of July 15th). Application only from federations.
4. Champion and vice-champion have right to play on World championship 2007 in Amsterdarm.

Tournament
5. Time control: Fisher system - 1 hour 20 minutes + 1 minutes/move
6. Tournament will be played in 10 rounds swiss system (in case of large number of participants, main referee, in consultation with EDC and organisator, will have ability to increase number of rounds till 11).
7. In settling places decides FMJD rules applying to swiss system tournaments (barrages will not be played!).
8. There will be also team classification:
a. Only federation with minimum 2 players in tournament take part in it
b. I st place in tournament - 1 point, IInd - 2 point and so on.
c. The lowest number of points deciding, if equal higher place of best player deciding
d. For federations with 2 players we add N+1 points (N - number of participants in tournament)
e. Federations with more then 3 players had to announce BEFORE 1st round which 3 players playing for teams classification

Fees
9. Entrance fee is 50€ for the first 3 players from the federation. If more players then for each next (4-….) entrance fee is 100€.
10. Paying fee it is federations duty so amount of fee from Federations will be counted not base of players present in Bovec but based of numbers of players in applications.
11. Without full participation fee paying by federation it is impossible to play for any players from the federation.
12. In case of extraordinary situation federation should inform EDC in written form about resignation of player(s). Only in this case fee can be reduced:
a. 100% if resignation before August 10th
b. 50% if resignation before August 20th
c. 0% if resignation after August 20th (it means that should be paid FULLY)
13. Fees can be paid in cash before opening ceremony

Hospitality
14. The organization pays costs for hotel and meals for the actual European Champion (Mr. Alexander Schwartzman from Russia) personally.
15. The organization pays costs for hotel and meals for one player from each federation but only from 1st to 10th of September (9 days/nights). The name of this player should be clearly announced in application. If not – then there is not free place for this federation.
16. Hotel Alp (***) Trg golobarskih žrtev 48 5230 Bovec this is a place for the players free of hospitality costs (p.12/13)
17. For all other players and guest it is up to them to decide there they like to stay. It should be arranged with organisators. Details option on web-site of Bovec Organising Committee – link on www.dama-zveza.si.

Prices
18. The price found: 10.000 euro from Bovec + 85% of fees
19. The price found will be divided minimum into 1st 15th places
20. Exact prices will be announced after 1st round.

Varies
21. All FMJD annexes about games, competitions, swiss system, etc. are obligated
22. The main referee will be nominated by EDC in collaboration with FMJD
23. “Jurry de Appelle” will be announced before 1st round. Only written protest in English can be accepted by this Jurry. The decision the JURRY is the FINAL decision.
